Overview
At the October 27, 2025 Special Town Meeting, Town Meeting voted to accept M.G.L. Chapter 60, Section 3D to establish an “Aid to Elderly and Disabled Taxation Fund” and a “Taxation Aid Committee” to consist of the Chair of the Board of Assessors, the Town Treasurer, and three residents to be appointed Select Board. Accepting this provision of Massachusetts General Laws allows the Town to add a check off on tax bills to collect contributions to an Aid to Elderly and Disabled Taxation Fund which will then be utilized to provide support to qualifying property owners to assist in tax payments.
